Employee Assistance Program
Helping your staff
Work can be demanding so we’ve designed a set of services to help you check how your teams are coping, troubleshoot problems and boost everyone’s wellbeing.
Take a look at our services in more detail, including
Managing stress
Over recent years there has been a dramatic increase in the number of individuals suffering from stress. If you are experiencing work-related stress, or stress outside of work that is affecting your performance at work then you may wish to approach your employer to try to tackle this problem in a number of ways.
Counselling can really help you to cope better with workplace pressure and, as a result, significantly reduce your stress levels. PLCC counsellors are used to talking about almost any subject (however personal it may be) so there’s nothing you need to feel too embarrassed or ashamed to talk about. You will be listened to, without judgement, and you will be supported to explore ways in which you can deal with your situation.
If you are experiencing stress, you can take a positive step and do something about it by approaching your employer to access our support system.
Individual wellbeing
Personal issues can have a major impact on the workplace, families, organisations and of course you, the individual. Problems might include work, health, relationships, bereavement and other forms of loss, emotional disturbance or sometimes you might feel that you just ‘need someone to talk to’.
Challenges sometimes stretch us beyond our capacity. During these difficult times, support is important and PLCC provides you with a way of helping you deal with some of these issues as they arise.
Our services are aimed to help you to improve your wellbeing. If you feel that this is something you might benefit from, discuss his with your HR department and ask about a referral.
Working with change
When change happens either in your personal life or at work it can be very challenging and difficult to come to terms with. A sense of insecurity, inadequate information and problems with communication often prevail. This is normal since change is disruptive and stressful.
Often individuals’ circumstances are materially affected by the change and change processes ignore the need to help individuals deal with what is happening for them. For example, it can mean loss of employment or a fear of the unknown. PLCC can provide personal counselling support to help with any fears that individuals might have. It can help build trust and assist them to deal with it in their own way.
Managing relationship in working the work place
Try as we might to get along, sometimes we find ourselves in conflict with other colleagues and – if not dealt with appropriately, this conflict can linger and become a significant source of stress at work.If you find yourself in a situation like this, it is important to speak with HR in your organisation – before commencing grievance procedures you may find it useful to consider workplace mediation. So often, a day spent with a mediator will help you to work together with the other person(s) to find a better way of communicating, saving lots of emotional cost all round.
